Firstly thank you to those who attended and contributed to the fans’ meeting on 23rd March.
As you will be aware we have since written to Mr Lemsagam with a view to opening up dialogue with the club about our concerns and expectations going forward. Our current approach of reaching out to Mr Lemsagam in this manner was endorsed by fans at the meeting. We feel it is the appropriate approach at this time.
Mr Lemsagam has been given the opportunity to connect with fans and reassure us that we are moving forward positively. We welcome his response by 12th April.
As a follow up, we have asked Mr Lemsagam to attend a meeting with fans. If this happens, further steps to continue dialogue and ensure the issues we have raised are addressed, on a permanent and long term basis, will need to be agreed. This is part of a process aimed at ensuring the club is being managed and operated in a responsible and sustainable manner.
There are differing views as to how we make our presence felt and communicate our expectations. There is no right answer. Our current approach may change if it doesn’t deliver the desired outcomes. For now, we must see the current strategy through to its natural conclusion.
The Trust met on 8th April and has agreed some immediate next steps beyond 12th April. We have been guided by Supporters Direct in determining the appropriate course of action. We will outline this in due course.
We have provisionally agreed to look to arrange another fans meeting to discuss next steps towards the end of April, depending on the outcome of our current efforts. Again we will issue further details in due course.
Finally please remember that these steps are being taken on behalf of our fans. Trust Oldham can only be an effective voice if backed by our fan base. Joining the Trust today will give us greater strength in our efforts.
