Who We Are
Trust Oldham is the Oldham Athletic Supporters Trust, we are proud to have a shareholding in our football club.
Formed in the wake of Oldham Athletic entering administration in 2003, the Trust was created by the fans to save Oldham Athletic. It has since played a key role in helping to stabilise the club and support its development.
For a long period of time in 2003, it appeared very likely that Oldham Athletic would cease to exist. However, thanks in a very large part to the fans of Oldham Athletic, the people of the town, and football fans worldwide the faith has been kept.
The current majority owners of the club have gone on record time and time again to underline what an important part the people of Oldham have played in saving their football club. It was those efforts from the supporters, past players and managers and indeed Oldhamers everywhere that have been channeled through the formation of Trust Oldham – the independent Supporters’ Trust of Oldham Athletic.
With £200,000 invested in the club and a seat on the Board with a set of responsible owners, the Trusts work is not done. Every director of the Trust believe this would be the wrong thing to do.
As the immediate threat of financial ruin has passed, the Trust has refocused it’s efforts to three key areas:
With a seat on the board, Trust Oldham is in a key position to ensure a debacle similar to that of the ‘Chris Moore Era’ will never happen again unnoticed. We continue to work alongside the club to help build a solid and stable business with supporters at its heart to ensure professional football continues within Oldham.
As a trusted and long-term key partner, Trust Oldham has played an important role in the development of the football club. The Trust will always strive to ensure that fans are treated in a fair manner, and help build a fan-friendly football club. Working with the Supporter Liaison Officer, Trust Oldham will help to provide a structured communication channel for Oldham Athletic fans.
The Trust will continue to generate ideas and raise funds to invest in the future development of the football club. This is focused on young supporter initiatives and at youth-team level where we will continue to work closely with the youth set-up.
